The Pittsburgh Penguins have one of the largest and most active social media networks.
- The Pittsburgh Penguins page on Facebook boasts more than 1.2 million followers, which ranks third in the NHL. During the 2011-12 season, Penguins Facebook posts garnered nearly a half-billion impressions.
- The Pittsburgh Penguins Twitter feed (@penguins) has more than 250,000 followers, the most followers out of all U.S.-based NHL team Twitters.
