What is Twitter?
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
How to set up your Twitter account:
1. Visit www.twitter.com and click "Get Started."
2. Enter your name and email address, and choose a username and password.
3. Visit twitter.com/pghpenguins and click "follow" under the Penguins logo to get our updates!
How to receive Twitter updates:
There are several ways you can send and receive Twitter updates. You can access Twitter on your computer, you can use your mobile phone through text messaging, or you can download an application on your mobile device/ iPhone / iPod Touch. See below for instructions.
Mobile Phone Via Text Messaging
1. If you would like to send and receive Twitter updates from your cell phone as text messages, click "settings" in the top right of your browser window and then click on the "devices" tab.
2. Enter your phone number as instructed (for U.S. phones, you will need to enter "+1" before your area code) and click the box that reads "It's okay for Twitter to send messages to my phone."
3. To receive Penguins updates to your cell phone , visit twitter.com/pghpenguins, then click the link that says "Device Updates OFF" and switch the button that pops up to "ON." You will now receive Penguins updates as SMS Text Messages on your phone.
Twitter does not send third-party texts to your phone; you are ONLY accepting text message updates from people and groups you choose.

Mobile Device Via Application
There are several third-party applications that you download and install on your phone. We've recommended a few below, but there are several applications out there that you could try.
For a BlackBerry - download and install TwitterBerry or another Twitter Application on your BlackBerry.
For an iPhone or iPod Touch - try either TwitterForiPhone.com or downloading any of these apps (TwitterFon, Twinkle, etc...) from the App Store.
