Penguins Foundation Donates More Than $786,000 From 50\/50 Raffles During 2013-14 Season To Local Charities

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation has donated more than $786,000 raised from its 50/50 raffles on game nights during the past season to local charitable organizations.

Over $250,000 was awarded to local charities in February of 2014 in Phase One of the Penguins Foundation’s grant process for the 2013-14 season. An additional $536,000 will be awarded in June 2014 to complete Phase Two of the current season’s grant process.

More than 56 charities are receiving Penguins Foundation grants this season, including the Arthritis Foundation, Girl Scouts of Western PA, CASA of Allegheny County, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater PA, Spina Bifida Association of Western PA, YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, Glade Run, The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern PA, World Vision, Pittsburgh CLO, National Aviary, Junior Achievement of Western PA, Pittsburgh Kids Foundation, Youth Hockey Development, The Bradley Center, Path Finder School and Children’s Dyslexia Center of Western PA .
