The Penguins held an 11 a.m. practice at CONSOL Energy Center Tuesday afternoon. Here is the gist of what went down…


*Centers Evgeni Malkin (foot) and Joe Vitale (mid-body) returned to their first full practice. Their status is unknown for Wednesday’s Game 1 (more on them here).

*Goaltender Tomas Vokoun (stroke), who was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Monday following a two-game conditioning stint, and forward Chris Conner (foot) worked on their own prior to the team’s practice.

*Vokoun will continue to work with the team in practices and optional skates, but head coach Dan Bylsma said the bulk of practice work in the postseason will go to Marc-Andre Fleury and Jeff Zatkoff.

*There is no update on when forward Marcel Goc (foot) will return to skating. He’s currently working out. Goc suffered a his foot injury after hitting the end boards feet first March 23 vs. Tampa Bay. He missed the final nine games of the season. 

*The Penguins re-assigned forwards Chuck Kobasew and Harry Zolnierczyk and defenseman Simon Despres to WBS.
