Neal Out Indefinitely with a Concussion
The bad news keeps rolling in for the Pens.
Head coach Dan Bylsma announced that forward James Neal is out indefinitely with a concussion following Friday’s practice at Southpointe.
“You don’t know if you’re talking about one day, two days or much longer than that,” Bylsma told the media. “You hope the symptoms subside and it’s shorter than longer.”
Neal, 26, told the Penguins staff that he "wasn't feeling normal" Thursday morning. He missed practice and met with doctors that afternoon and was diagnosed with the concussion.
Forward Chris Kunitz, 34, returned to practice with the team Friday after missing Thursday’s practice with some “bumps and bruises.”
Kunitz’s status for Saturday’s 1 p.m. contest in Philadelphia isn’t clear. The lineup will be a game-time decision, according to Bylsma.
The Penguins have already suffered 397 man-games lost due to injury this season.
