MORNING SKATE INFO
All the healthy Pens were on the ice for the team's morning skate in Ottawa. IR players Orpik, Scuderi and Glass also worked. Malkin was not on the ice. Glass, whom coach Bylsma said would be a game-time decision tonight, did not work in lines during the skate. The team used the following workflow...

Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
Conner-Jokinen-Neal
Zolnierczyk-Sutter-Vitale
Adams-Sill-Kobasew
(Glass, Gibbons)

Niskanen-Maatta
Dumoulin-Bortuzzo

START THE DAY
Good morning from Ottawa! Tonight the Pens will battle the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre. Here are some quick game notes to get your ready for the game...

  • The Penguins visit the Ottawa Senators (TV: ROOT SPORTS; Radio: 105.9 the X) at Canadian Tire Centre.
  • This is Pittsburgh and Ottawa’s first meeting against one another since the Penguins bounced the Senators from last year’s playoffs with a 4-1 series victory in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
  • Pittsburgh enters tonight having won a season-high seven straight games and 12 of its last 13 contests.
  • Since Nov. 18 the Penguins have recorded the most wins (15) and points (31) among all NHL teams. Their record is 15-2-1 during that span.
  • Last season the Penguins swept the season series (3-0) against the Senators.
  • Two of those three wins came at the Canadian Tire Centre.
  • This season the Penguins are 5-2 against Canadian-based teams.
  • Pittsburgh’s penalty kill has been perfect in eight of its last 10 games this month (32-for-34; 94.1%). That’s the second-highest rate in the NHL behind only Vancouver (96.7%; 29-for-30).
