Lists: Then and Now (Head Shots)

By Sam Kasan

Penguins fans have literally watched their favorite stars grow up right before their eyes. Fans watched players like Marc-Andre Fleury, Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang since they were 18-year-old kids. Now they are all "growns up." But at heart, they are still big kids.

Here is a look at some of the Penguins' players from their younger days in hockey, next to their head shots for the 2013-14 NHL season. #TransformationTuesday

1. CRAIG ADAMS
Adams was a draft pick of Hartford, the Whale. Here he is as a young pup in 2001 with Carolina. But as Adams will tell you, with age comes wisdom #Harvard

2. SIDNEY CROSBY
It's hard to believe it was eight years ago that the Penguins drafted the 18-year-old franchise center. Look at that smile on Draft Day 2005.

3. PASCAL DUPUIS
Dupuis wasn't drafted into the NHL. Instead, he earned a roster spot as a free agent tryout in Minnesota in 2002. (Michelle said he looks like a dream boat back in the day).

4. MARC-ANDRE FLEURY
It appears little has changed in the last 10 years for "Flower." Except for the longer hair. The photo on the left is from the NHL combine in Toronto in 2003.

5. JUSSI JOKINEN
Here's a pic from Jokinen's rookie season with the Dallas Stars in 2005. Eight years and 579 games later have made him more tan.

6. CHRIS KUNITZ
Kunitz looks pretty simiilar to the way he did with Anaheim in 2005. His hair was a little more out of control then.

7. KRIS LETANG
Speaking of hair, Letang still had it back in 2006. But it has become more perfect since then.

8. EVGENI MALKIN
Same childlike charm and personality from "Geno" since his 2004 draft. But he ditched the Russian bowl cut.

9. PAUL MARTIN
Martin is going with a more tame look these days. (Michelle bet he won "Best Hair" at U of Minnesota).

10. JAMES NEAL
Neal added some hair gel and facial hair since his youthful days in 2005 in Dallas.

11. MATT NISKANEN
Niskanen looks exactly the same from 2007. He's like the "Rob Lowe" of the team, never ages.

12. BROOKS ORPIK
Orpik is older and trimmer from his draft day in 2001. But he still has the eyes. It's all about the eyes.

13. BRANDON SUTTER
Sutter had a boy band look at his 2007 combine. Now he's going hipster. Iron & Wine > One Direction.

14. TOMAS VOKOUN
Vokoun was just as intimidating in 2001. Maybe more so.

15. ROB SCUDERI
Is it possible to look older when you're younger? Scuderi must have found the fountain of youth after his draft day in 1998. Although more of the blame is probably on the photo.

16. DAN BYLSMA
I wonder if the 1997 LA Kings winger thought he would win a Stanley Cup, Jack Adams and be named USA Hockey's Olypmic head coach in the following 16 years. It's been quite a run for coach Bylsma.

17. TOM FITZGERALD
Back in 1996, Fitzgerald was breaking the collective heart of Penguins nation with the Florida Panthers. Now he's helping to build future championships in Pittsburgh as the Penguins assistant to the general manager.

18. BILL GUERIN
"Billy G" wore the USA jersey for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Now he's sans turtle neck and all business in his suit as the Pens development coach.

19. TODD REIRDEN
Reirden looks like a menacing "Hells Angels" biker in 2001.

20. TONY GRANATO
"Tony G" was, like, so 90s with the Kings. He nearly led them to a Stanley Cup in 1993. Now he's found a home behind the bench in Pittsburgh.
