Notebook: Injured Players Skate Again

The Penguins three injured players - Sidney Crosby (broken jaw), James Neal (concussion), Paul Martin (hand) - skated at CONSOL Energy Center Tuesday morning prior to the team's practice.

There is no timeframe for any of their returns.

Martin skated on his own with strength coach Mike Kadar. He's been skating since April 11th to keep his conditioning up. Martin had a bone break in his hand from a slap shot March 28 vs. Winnipeg. He had surgery March 31.

After Martin left the ice, Crosby and Neal came out to work with Kadar. It was the second straight day that both players have skated since suffering their respective injuries.

Crosby continues to wear a protective shield over his jaw. He suffered the broken jaw when a deflected shot struck him in the mouth March 30 vs. NY Islanders. Crosby had surgery on the jaw and underwent major dental work.

Neal suffered a concussion after being elbowed in the head by NY Rangers Michael Del Zotto April 5. According to head coach Dan Bylsma, Neal is symptom free.
