Crosby, Neal, Martin Skate
Crosby has missed the last six games, Neal has missed the last three games and Martin has missed the last seven games. The Penguins have no timeframe for the return of any of the three players.
Crosby skated for the first time since suffering a broken jaw when a deflected puck struck him in the mouth March 30 against the NY Islanders. He underwent surgery and major dental work the following day.
"(Crosby) was out basically for a skate," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "It wasn't any strenuous exercise at this point."
Neal was diagnosed with a concussion after being elbowed in the head by NY Rangers' Michael Del Zotto April 5.
"James is symptom free," Bylsma said. "There is no timeframe (on Neal)."
Martin has been out of the lineup since a shot broke a bone in his hand March 28 vs. Winnipeg. He had successful surgery on his hand Sunday, March 31. He began skating April 11th is warmups, but not full gear.
"(Martin) has had motion with what he can wear on his hand," Bylsma said. "It allows him to go on the ice and skate. I don't have a timeframe for when he can get back in a practice situation with the team. His skating will be at full speed as he progresses with the injury. It's just a matter of going through the time period and healing process."
