Penguins Acquire Forward Jussi Jokinen from Carolina for a Conditional Draft Pick
The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired forward Jussi Jokinen from Carolina in exchange for a conditional sixth or seventh round draft pick in 2013, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Carolina will retain a portion of Jokinen's salary.
Jokinen, 30, has tallied 11 points (6G-5A) in 33 games this season with Carolina. Three of his goals have been game-winning tallies.
The 5-foot-11, 198-pound Jokinen had his best season with Carolina in 2009-10, scoring a career-high 30 goals and 65 points in 81 games.
A native of Kalajoki, Finland, Jokinen has amassed 346 career points (121G-225A) in 569 career NHL games with Dallas, Tampa Bay and Carolina.
Jokinen was originally drafted by Dallas in the sixth round (192nd overall) in the 2001 NHL Draft.
