Pens Practice in Newark\r\n

With Winter Storm Nemo closing in on New Jersey, the Penguins changed their travel plans accordingly.

Instead of practicing at home and then flying out like they usually do before a road game, the team reversed their schedule: they left for New Jersey at 11 a.m. Friday morning and had a 2 p.m. practice at Prudential Center. The plane landed to pouring rain; as the team practiced we watched it turn to snow. Lots and lots and lots and lots of snow.

Despite the flakes falling fast and furious and blanketing Newark, right now the Penguins are focused on their Saturday afternoon game against the Devils, which is the first of a home-and-home series. They had a solid practice on Friday where they started with drills, moved onto special teams and finished by working in their lines and pairings.

Defenseman Kris Letang, who missed Thursday’s game against the Capitals with a lower-body injury, did not make the trip with the team. Head coach Dan Bylsma said following today’s skate that Letang is still day-to-day. Bylsma also said that Marc-Andre Fleury will start in goal on Saturday. Martin Brodeur is starting for New Jersey.

SNOWBALL FIGHT!
I was walking with ROOT SPORTS' Dan Potash and Bob Errey as well as Phil Bourque and Mike Lange to the bus to go back to the hotel after practice. We opened the doors to go outside and were greeted by a ton of falling snow. Which immediately inspired Potash, Errey and Bourque to start making snowballs and throwing them at each other. Well, when Pascal Dupuis came outside he decided to join the fun (he's said before that he is his wife's fifth child, ha!) It was basically Dupuis versus the other three. I managed to capture the scene with my phone. Absolutely hilarious. Dupuis definitely nailed Potash with a few well-placed throws. Although Potash believes that he won...

In this picture, you can actually see the snowball Dupuis threw about to hit Potash. Ha!

Dupuis' ability to throw snowballs reminds me of this scene from Elf...
