Pens Offer FREE Selected Concession Items, ‘Half Off’ All Merchandise at First Four Home Games

Monday, 01.21.2013 / 2:45 PM / News

The Pittsburgh Penguins remind our fans that we will offer FREE selected concession items and “half off” all merchandise at the team’s first four home games at CONSOL Energy Center – starting with the home opener Wednesday at 7 p.m. against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Every fan attending each of the first four games will receive a voucher for three free concession items. Fans may choose from among hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, nachos, popcorn, pretzels, salads and fountain drinks.

All merchandise at “PensGear” stores will be half-off for the first four games. The PensGear store in the main lobby of CONSOL Energy Center and PensGear at SouthSide Works will offer the half-off discount throughout the day on the first four home dates.

All fans attending the home opener will receive a gold “Great Day for Hockey” t-shirt.

Doors at CONSOL Energy Center normally open one hour before game time, but the Penguins plan to open the doors earlier than usual for the first four home games to accommodate fans who want to take advantage of the discounts on merchandise and free concessions. Doors will open two hours before the home opener and 90 minutes before the next three games. These changes in door times will apply ONLY to the first four games:

  • Wed., Jan. 23 vs. Toronto, 7 p.m. – Doors open at 5 p.m.
  • Tue., Jan. 29 vs. NY Islanders, 7:30 p.m. – Doors open at 6 p.m.
  • Sat. Feb. 2 vs. New Jersey, 1 p.m. – Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
  • Thu., Feb. 7 vs. Washington, 7 p.m. – Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Fans also should be aware that, similar to last year’s Stanley Cup playoffs, NHL security has mandated that all fans entering NHL arenas be screened with hand-held wands by arena security personnel. The goal is to create the safest possible environment for fans in arenas across the league.
