A bit of an unknown commodity at the beginning of the season, Hampus Lindholm has begun to make waves prior to the NHL Draft. Lindholm put himself on the radar after posting five points in 10 playoff games for Rogle BK, helping them clinch a spot in the Sweden Elite League next season. The five points in 10 games surpassed the four points he accumulated in 20 games during the regular season. Projected as a two-way defenseman, Lindholm played extensive minutes with the top defensive pairing for Sweden at the Under-18 World Championship. The towering blueliner bolstered the Swedes defense, securing a silver medal for the third consecutive year. Many scouts believe because of his rapid development, Lindholm has become an intriguing prospect heading into the 2012 NHL Draft.

“Lindholm is a multi-purpose defender whose skills are suited for both sides of the ice. He has the innate ability to control the tempo of the game and will also push the pace of the game if he feels he needs to pick his team up … His offensive game is highlighted by quick, accurate passes that he snaps off his blade. The velocity in which he delivers his passes is NHL elite.”
