Watch Pens Prospect Harrington in the Memorial Cup

The NHL Network U.S. will broadcast the 2012 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament, the championship of the Canadian Hockey League.

Penguins’ 2011 second-round pick (54th overall), Scott Harrington and the London Knights, the Ontario Hockey League champions, will compete in the tournament, which runs from May 18-27, against the Edmonton Oil Kings (Western Hockey League champions), Saint John Sea Dogs (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions) and host team Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL).

NHL Network U.S. will air the entire tournament, featuring a combination of live and tape-delayed broadcasts throughout the 10 days of competition. Each team will play three games in the preliminary round-robin, May 18-23. Harrington and the Knights begin play Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. vs. Saint John. The game will be broadcast live.

The semifinal game is May 25 and the championship game is May 27.

It’s been quite a year for Harrington since being drafted by Pittsburgh. He went on to have a successful development camp, prospect tournament and training camp with the Penguins before returning to London for the 2011-12 season.

Harrington, 19, then earned a coveted spot on Team Canada’s roster for the 2012 World Junior Championships from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5 and helped his team earn a bronze medal at the tournament.

Overall, Harrington posted the best numbers of his junior career during the 2011-12 regular season despite missing a total of 24 games due to injury. He finished with 26 points (3G-23A) and a plus-26 rating through 44 games.

Now, fans will have the opportunity to watch this young shutdown defenseman as he and the Knights compete in the Memorial Cup. This is just London's second appearance in the CHL championship, with their first and only OHL title coming in 2005, when the Knights defeated Sidney Crosby and Rimouski Oceanic in the final.
