Tune Up for Tryouts
Presented by CRONS
On April 2-4 & 6, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be holding the Tune-Up for tryouts camp presented by CRONS at the Ice Castle in Castle Shannon, Pa. Hockey players from age groups Mite through Midget will be attending.
This camp is designed to prepare participants for their upcoming tryouts. They will receive instruction on all of the skills coaches look for when picking their teams from power skating and stick handling to proper goaltending techniques.
Monday, April 2:
- 5:00 pm – Mite power skating & Squirt skills
- 6:00 pm – Mite skills & Squirt power skating
- 7:00 pm – Pee Wee power skating & Bantam-Midget skills
- 8:00 pm – Pee Wee skills and Bantam-Midget power skating
Tuesday, April 3
- 5:00 pm – Mite power skating & Squirt skills
- 6:00 pm – Mite skills & Squirt power skating
- 7:00 pm – Pee Wee power skating & Bantam-Midget skills
- 8:00 pm – Pee Wee skills & Bantam-Midget power skating
Wednesday, April 4
- 5:00 pm – Mite power skating & Squirt skills
- 6:00 pm – Mite skills & Squirt power skating
- 7:00 pm – Pee Wee power skating & Bantam-Midget skills
- 8:00 pm – Pee Wee skills & Bantam-Midget power skating
GOALIES ONLY SESSION - Friday, April 6
- 5:00 pm – Mite**/Squirt
- 6:00 pm – Pee Wee/Bantam-Midget
Instruction will be provided by Robert Morris University, Men’s’ Varsity Hockey Coach, Derek Schooley, assisted by Kate Michael, a Pittsburgh Elite AAA girl’s head coach. Mark Chaves will provide power skating instruction. Michael Chiasson, Penguins Manager of Youth Hockey Programs will instruct goaltenders throughout the camp and during the goalies only session Friday night.
