The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Simon Despres to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Despres, 20, has played in 13 games for Pittsburgh this season, tallying four points (1G-3A) and a plus-4 rating while averaging 15:27 minutes. Despres made his NHL debut against the Washington Capitals on Dec. 1 and tallied his first NHL goal on Dec. 17 against the Buffalo Sabres.
