Penguins Recall Eric Tangradi and Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre\/Scranton
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Eric Tangradi and defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.

Tangradi, 22, appeared in two games for Pittsburgh in an earlier stint this season. The 6-foot-4, 221-pound forward has spent the majority of the season with WBS, where he is tied for the team lead with 10 goals and ranks second with 20 points in 24 games.

Tangradi, a Philadelphia, Pa. native, has appeared in 18 regular-season games for Pittsburgh over the past three seasons, tallying three points (1G-2A). Tangradi made his NHL postseason debut for the Penguins in Game 4 of the team’s opening-round playoff series with Tampa Bay last spring.

Picard, 26, is up for his fourth NHL stint of the season. He has appeared in 11 games for the Penguins, collecting one assist and posting a plus-3 rating. Picard notched his assist on Dec. 10 in a 6-3 win against the New York Islanders.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Picard has one goal, seven points and a plus-8 rating this season in 14 games with WBS.

Picard, who was originally a third-round draft pick (85th overall) of the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2003 NHL Draft, has appeared in 247 career NHL games with Philadelphia, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, Montreal Canadiens and Penguins, scoring 19 goals and 66 points.
