Penguins Prospects Harrington, Uher Named to World Junior Championship Rosters
Pittsburgh Penguins prospects Scott Harrington and Dominik Uher have been selected to represent their respective countries at the 2012 World Junior Championship, which will be held Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.

Harrington was one of seven defensemen to crack Canada’s final roster, while Uher will be one of the top forwards on the Czech Republic squad.

Harrington, 18, was Pittsburgh’s second-round draft pick (54th overall) in the 2011 NHL Draft. The stay-at-home blueliner has been a key contributor for London, which owns the best record in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Harrington (6-foot, 200 pounds) leads all Knights defensemen with 16 points (2G-14A) in 26 games. He places third (tied) in the OHL with a plus-20 rating. Harrington posted a plus-2 rating in two exhibition games with Pittsburgh during the preseason.

Uher, 18, was selected by the Penguins in the fifth round (144th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft. A native of Frydek-Mistek, Czech Republic, Uher is currently in his third season with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

The 6-foot, 195-pound Uher ranks fourth on Spokane with 21 points (10G-11A) in 24 games. Uher’s plus-10 rating leads the team.

In addition to Harrington and Uher, the Penguins have two more prospects who have a chance to play in the World Junior Championship as forwards Kenny Agostino (Yale) and Josh Archibald (Nebraska-Omaha) will attend Team USA’s pre-camp tryout Dec. 17-23 at the Edgeworth Centre in Camrose, Alberta.
