Condra roofs a shot for the Sens and they cut into the lead. Pens 6, Sens 3

6:13: The Pens get an opportunity on a 3-on-2 rush. Pittsburgh didn't score, but Neal is cited for goalie interference. PK goes to work.

6:50: A mad scramble in front of the net. Fleury keeps the paddle low and the Pens get the puck out of danger.

11:19: In 4-on-4 action, Staal carries the puck off the halfwall and nets a goal on the far side. That's 11 for 11. Pens 6, Sens 2

11:47: Gonchar wiffs on a shot, Adams steals and heads in for a shorthanded breakaway. Along the way, Gonchar gives him a slash and will sit for two minutes.

12:30: Fleury goes post-to-post to make a kick save on Gonchar's shot from the backdoor.

13:14: Vitale is going to the box. Pens on the PK.

17:16: After Foligno falls on Fleury, Crosby roughs him up in the crease. Then Kunitz jumps in to protect his captain. Crosby and Foligno get penalties.

0:00: The second period ends. After 40 minutes the Pens have a 5-2 lead.

0:32: The Pens kill the penatly. Funny note, a puck propelled into the stands. A guy reaching for it fell forward over three rows of people. MAN DOWN!!! Sniper rifle.

2:12: Spezza rings a shot off the post and then off Greening's helmet. Double ding.

2:41: Asham gets called for hooking. PK goes to work.

3:19: It's time for the Big Mac Attack. If the Pens score in the next 2 minutes everyone in attendance (a record crowd of 18,641) will get a free Big Mac from McDonalds. Cows everywhere are nervous.

4:14: The Sens cut into the lead. Cowen unleashes a slap shot from above the circles that eludes traffic and hits the netting. Pens 5, Sens 2

6:34: The Sens kill off the penalty. Great chances for Staal and Kennedy during the stretch.

3:09: Ottawa kills the penalty. We're back to even strength.

6:35: The Senators take a delay of game penalty and the Pittsburgh power play goes to work.

8:48: Fleury mishandles a puck and Evil Michalek steals. Luckily Fleury gets the pad down to deny Evil Michalek of his 13th goal (You know he's evil because he's wearing red. Always a dead giveaway).

10:24: The Pens and CONSOL Energy Center salute equipment manager Dana Heinze with a standing ovation on his 1,500 career game. CONGRATS DANA!!!!

!0:49: The Sens kill the penalty, but the Pens still hit for gold. Malkin does a great job to keep the puck in the zone, skating through two defenders to find open space in the slot. Then he rips a shot far side into the net. The Senators pull Anderson and Auld gets in the game. Pens 4, Sens 1

12:39: With 5 forwards on the ice for the 5-on-3, the Pens strike!!! Sullivan's pass from the far circle hit the stick of Phillips and jumps into the net. Pens 3, Sens 1

The Sens take a too-many-men penalty. Pitt PP goes to work.

16:35: Kenndy gives the Pens the lead. He carries the puck down the near side and whips it on goal. Kennedy finds his own rebound in the corner and throws it at the net. The puck hits the inside pad of Anderson and deflects into the goal. Pens 2, Sens 1

18:12: Some fisticuffs break out as Asham and Konopka. The two have a lengthy bout before the refs broke it up.

18:14: Just 27 seconds later the Pens answer to tie the game. Crosby's speed led to a 3-on-2 rush. Dupuis powered to the front of the net, creating an open passing lane through the slot. Crosby used that path to find Kunitz on the other side. He snapped a shot into the goal to even the game. Pens 1, Sens 1

18:41: The Senators get on the board just under 80 seconds into the game. Kaspars Daugavins found a rebound off a shot from the point and steers the puck around Fleury. Sens 1, Pens 0

6:45 PM:
It's a hockey night in Pittsburgh. Tonight the Pens look to bounce back from a 3-2 overtime setback to St. Louis on Wednesday in a Friday night showdown with Ottawa at CONSOL Energy Center.

The big story of the game is Brother vs. Brother as Pens Zbynek and Sens Milan battle for Michalek supremecy. It should be an interesting match as Z is one of the best shutdown defensemen in the NHL, while Milan is an offensive power with 12 goals this season.

It will be Marc-Andre Fleury in goal for the Pens and Craig Anderson for the Senators. Other details in today's Pens Report.

As for the rest of the Senators, Michelle Crechiolo scouted them out so you don't have to. Just click play and learn.
