Three Penguins Prospects Earn Weekly Honors
The Penguins have built impressive depth throughout their entire organization – not just in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but with their amateur prospects as well. That was showcased this past week as three Penguins prospects earned weekly honors for their respective leagues.

For the second consecutive week, Scott Wilson – drafted by the Penguins in the seventh round (209th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft – was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week for his three-point performance (2G-1A) against the Black Bears. UMass Lowell was also named the Team of the Week after earning its first sweep of Maine in the Alfond Arena since 1985.

For the season, Wilson leads all UMass Lowell rookies with nine points on four goals and five assists. Of his tallies, two have come on the power play and one became a game-winner.

In the ECAC, Nick D’Agostino – the Penguins’ seventh-round selection (210th overall) in 2008 – was named Player of the Week on Tuesday after Cornell’s road sweep of Harvard and then-ranked Dartmouth.

The junior defenseman scored four goals over the two games, including his first three collegiate power-play goals. He scored twice on the man advantage just 56 seconds apart in Friday’s 3-2 victory over the Crimson, then followed up by netting the squad’s final two goals the next night at Dartmouth. One of the team’s alternate captains, D’Agostino is now tied for the team lead with eight points, and leads the nation in points per game for defensemen (1.60).

Finally, University of Nebraska-Omaha right winger Josh Archibald was named the Red Baron WCHA Rookie of the Week for November 15. Archibald produced back-to-back multiple-point games to help the Mavericks earn three of four points in a conference road series at Bemidji State last weekend.

The Penguins selected Archibald in the sixth round (174th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
