In addition to helping to save lives, blood donors received a Jordan Staal jersey-style t-shirt and were eligible to win Penguins memorabilia. Fans also had the opportunity to meet and chat with Penguins alumni members Phil Bourque, Jay Caufield, Francois Leroux, Bryan Trottier and Ken Wregget along with team broadcaster Paul Steigerwald. Penguins mascot Iceburgh and the Ice Crew were on also hand to interact with donors.
After giving blood, fans enjoyed refreshments from Dr. Pepper Snapple Group and snacks from National Pretzel Company/HK Anderson and Shearer’s.

The one-day drive at CONSOL Energy Center produced a total of 381 units of blood, which equals 1,143 lives saved. This collection would not have been possible without the outstanding support of our fans and we thank each donor for their participation.
