0:00: That'll do it. The Sabres hold off a strong push at the end by the Pens to net a 3-2 win. It's the Pens first regulation loss of the season.

0:21: Delay of game penalty coming on Buffalo. It will be 6-on-4 for the final 20 seconds.

1:06: Martin almost scores, but can't beat Enroth.

1:29: Neal tries to reach a loose puck by the net, but Enroth covers. Fleury comes to the bench for the extra attacker.

4:51: Staal finds some loose change and backhands it into the net for a goal. Pittsburgh cuts the lead to one. Sabres 3, Pens 2.

6:30: Pens get another couple of cracks with a loose puck the crease, but can't manage to score.

9:27: Letang with a blast from the point, Enroth covers. Ice Crew comes out to clean up the ice in their blue uniforms.

Another note, it's time for the BIG MAC ATTACK! Let's go Pens!! Win some burgers for the faithful.

11:54: Stafford with a laser shot into the far top corner adds to the Sabres' lead. He needed a perfect shot to score, and he got it. Sabres 3, Pens 1.

13:23: The Pens get a 2-on-1, but Letestu's attempted pass is blocked.

15:19: Beautiful move by Staal to pull the puck in and around a defender to get off a shot from the slot. Enroth makes the save.

16:43:
Big boom from Michalek on the point. Brave people that stand in the way of that shot.

20:00: Puck drops. Game on. Third period underway.

















- Fleury made 12 saves in the 2nd
- Kunitz with 5 shots, Neal with 4 shots
- Staal is 9 of 12 in faceoffs (75 percent)





0:00: The horn sounds and the second period is over. 40 minutes in the book and the Pens trail 2-1. James Neal with his 5th goal of the season. As Michelle Crechiolo just said, "Somebody get Neal some water, because he's on fire."

1:00: Pens kill the penalty and Mill announces the minute mark.

3:01: Martin saves a goal by tying up the stick of Pominville when he had an easy tap-in with Fleury prone on the ice.

3:51: Tripping call on Dupuis. Pens PK goes to work. Buffalo allowed 2 shorthanded goals against Friday night against Carolina. Maybe another?

5:13: Engelland crushes McCormick into the boards, to the approval of the crowd.

6:20: Sekera got behind the Pittsburgh defense, but Fleury was able to make a pad save.

6:41: Pens get an odd-man rush. Cooke carries and shoots. The fans start a "Let's Go Pens!" chant. Party rockers in the house tonight. Occupy Consol.

11:18: Dupuis carries the puck on a 2-on-1 and dishes to Kunitz, but he misses the net. Pens are really coming on strong here in the second period.

12:46: Gaustad just got 3 straight shots, but Fleury stands tall.

16:14: James Neal spit out his gum on the bench, it hit a few sticks and went into the net. Everything that guy touches right now is going in.

17:00: Pens pouring on the pressure. Asham gets the puck into the crease and there was a battle for it. Enroth finally covers for the whistle.

17:49: BOOM!!! James Neal with another goal! This one he throws from the near corner and it goes off Regehr and into the goal. Sabres 2, Pens 1.

18:10: Park is centering Neal and Sullivan.

19:30: Staal and Kunitz are playing with Dupuis now.

20:00: Puck drops. Game on. Second period underway.













- Kunitz has team-high 3 shots
- Pens outhitting Bufalo, 9-4
- Staal is 4-of-6 in faceoffs





0:00: First period ends with the Pens trailing 2-0. Sabres with a slight edge in shots, 11-9. Some jossling at the end of the frame, pretty funny to see Staal and Gerbe shoving. You know why.

1:00: Ryan Mill says there is one minute left in the period.

3:30: Pens mixing up the lines a bit: Cooke-Letestu-Kennedy and Kunitz-Staal-Neal.

4:28: Letestu gets a chance right in front of the goal, but can't beat Enroth.

5:25: Kunitz re-directs a shot from the point. A tricky save, but Enroth was able to turn it aside.

5:55: The Pens turn the puck over and Buffalo gets a 2-on-0. Vanek dishes to Adam, who buries the shot. Sabres 2, Pens 0.

7:06: Penalty expires. Back to 5-on-5.

9:08: Gaustad gets two minutes for interference. That'll learn him.

10:36: Gerbe appears to give the Buffalo a 1-0. He found a rebound and slid it by Fleury. Letang went diving to stop it and knock the net off just as the puck was crossing the goal line. After a review the goal was awarded. Sabres 1, Pens 0.

10:50: Lovejoy with a great block to break up a Buffalo pass on what would have been a sure goal.

12:39: Iceburgh just slid down the banister. He's got his gameface on.

14:58: Staal and Kunitz make a good read to spring for a two-on-one, but can't get the puck on the net.

20:00: Puck drops. Game on. First period underway.



7:00 PM:

6:30 PM:
The Pens battle the Sabres in about 30 minutes at CONSOL Energy Center. Evgeni Malkin did not skate in the morning skate and was ruled out of the game by head coach Dan Bylsma. Sabres.com also noted that goaltender Jhonas Enroth will get the start in goal.
