Crosby Status Quo

Penguins center Sidney Crosby’s recovery from a concussion, which was suffered in early January, is still status quo – essentially he continues to practice with his teammates and take part in drills, but still hasn’t had any contact.

“Everything has been really good,” said Crosby, who is wearing a white non-contact helmet in the practices. “I haven’t run into any issues so far. It’s been pretty smooth. 



“It’s nice, day at a time. It’s been a lot of fun out there competing and getting back to doing typical things that you’re used to doing everyday as a hockey player.”

Crosby practiced with his teammates Sunday morning and took part in a controlled scrimmage, which didn’t have any contact and focused more on running through set plays and faceoff plays.

“It was really controlled,” Crosby said. “It was a lot of teaching stuff. It was good to refresh all of that. It’s been a while since we went over that on the ice. I’m happy to be out there.



“To refresh everything, that’s what everyone got out of it. A controlled scrimmage you’re basically trying to figure out where you need to be and make sure in the right places.”
