Led by captain Sidney Crosby, 14 Pittsburgh Penguins players hand-delivered season tickets to the homes of fans throughout the region Monday.
In addition to Crosby, players making the personal deliveries were Evgeni Malkin, Marc-Andre Fleury, Jordan Staal, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik, Tyler Kennedy, Chris Kunitz, Matt Cooke, Pascal Dupuis, James Neal, Zbynek Michalek, Paul Martin and Deryk Engelland.
It marked the fifth straight year that Penguins players have delivered season tickets. They made more than 30 stops throughout the Pittsburgh area during the afternoon.
“It’s such a great way for our players to personally reach out to season ticket holders, who are the backbone of our franchise,” said David Morehouse, CEO of the Penguins. “We’re fortunate to have so many guys who enjoy interacting with our fans in this unique way.”
Penguins players report to training camp on Friday. The first two practices sessions – Saturday, Sept. 17 and Sunday, Sept. 18 at CONSOL Energy Center – will be open to the public, free of charge.
