The goalies will join the 40 skaters already invited to the camp in competing for a spot on the U.S. National Junior Team that will take part in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, Dec. 26, 2011-Jan. 5, 2012, in Calgary and Edmonton, AB.

Gibson, 17, is listed as the No. 1 North American goaltender on NHL Central Scouting's final rankings heading into the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, which will be held June 24-25 in St. Paul, Minn.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound netminder, who was named USA Hockey's Dave Peterson Goalie of the Year for the 2010-11 season earlier this month, was also named the top goaltender of the 2011 IIHF World Men's U18 Championship last April in Crimmitschau and Dresden, Germany, after leading Team USA to its third straight gold medal.

Among those 40 skaters are four players who also have ties to the Pittsburgh amateur hockey system – forwards J.T. Miller (East Palestine, OH/Moon, Pa.), Brandon Saad (Gibsonia, Pa.) and Vince Trocheck (Upper St. Clair, Pa.), and defenseman Stephen Johns (Wampum, Pa.) – and a pair of 2010 Pittsburgh Penguins draft picks, forwards Bryan Rust (3rd round, 80th overall) and Kenneth Agostino (5th round, 140th overall).

Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma will serve as an assistant coach during the camp.
