CONSOL Energy Center and PJ Dick Win Top Master Builders Award

Pittsburgh, PA – Among a peer group of over 800 professionals who contribute to the quality of  construction in Western Pennsylvania, PJ Dick Incorporated was awarded a Master Builders’ Association (MBA) top prize of Best New Construction Over $10 Million for its role as construction manager on the CONSOL Energy Center, the new home of the Pittsburgh Penguins. 
 
“PJ Dick’s hard work and dedication were absolutely phenomenal on this project,” noted Travis Williams, Senior Vice President, Pittsburgh Penguins.  “Their leadership resulted in an arena that will pay tribute to one of Pittsburgh’s greatest sports legacies for decades to come.  We are honored to have our ‘home’ recognized by the MBA and congratulate PJ Dick on yet another award-winning performance.”
 
The MBA award was presented at its 2010 Building Excellence Awards competition, held during the fourth annual “Construction Industry Evening of Excellence” on February 24, 2011 at the Heinz Field East Club.  Presented annually, the Building Excellence Awards are the highest and most sought-after commercial construction industry awards in the region.
 
PJ Dick provided construction management-at-risk services for the $321 million, 18,087-seat multi-purpose arena.  Completed in August 2010,  CONSOL Energy Center boasts state-of-the art amenities and technology, and is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certified NHL arena in the world.
