CHICAGO – Center Jordan Staal gave the Penguins a scare in the team's 3-2 shootout setback to the Blackhawks at United Center.
Staal was positioned in front of the net on a Pittsburgh power play during the overtime period when a slap shot struck him in the side of his face. He left the ice and did not return to the game.
"(Staal) gave me the thumbs up when I came into the room," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "I don't know what that means. I'm assuming that means he's good."
