Four Penguins Rank Among Potential All-Star Starters Entering the Final Week of Voting
Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury earned more than 52,000 votes last week to move into the top spot among goaltenders with 311,623 votes heading into the final week of 2011 NHL All-Star Fan Balloting, presented by XM.

Fleury, who owns a 15-2-1 record, 1.82 goals-against average and .937 save percentage over his past 18 starts, joins fellow teammates Sidney Crosby (523,822), Kris Letang (391,525) and Evgeni Malkin (289,878) as potential All-Star Game Starters.

Crosby, who leads the NHL in both goals (30) and points (61), is the only player to cross the half-million mark in votes. He and Letang continue to rank Nos. 1-2 among overall vote-getters.

Letang, the second-leading scorer among defensemen with 31 points (6G-25A), leads all defensemen and write-in candidates.

Malkin, who ranks second on the Penguins in both goals (13) and points (32), holds the final starting spot at forward behind Crosby and Chicago’s Jonathan Toews for the second-consecutive week.

Voting will continue through Jan. 3, 2011. If all four Penguins maintain their current positions, that would give Pittsburgh four members of the starting lineup for the second time in franchise history and first time since the 1992 All-Star Game in Philadelphia (Mario Lemieux, Kevin Stevens, Jaromir Jagr and Paul Coffey).
