0:00: The Penguins defeat the Sabres 1-0! Fleury nabs his first shutout of this season and the 17th of his career (his last one came on March 18, 2010). Pittsburgh extends their unbeaten streak to 6-0-1, and have now swept the Dad's Trip for the second season in a row.

1:01:
The Pens are called for icing, and Enroth takes advantage of the stoppage in play to leave the ice.

2:00:
The Sabres have been working the puck around the Penguins zone, but Pittsburgh gets the clear.

3:26:
Ennis tries to tee off a shot, but the Penguins defense isn't having it. They deflect his wrister out of play.

5:00:
Malkin corrals a bouncing puck, but his shot is saved by Enroth.

6:17:
Letang gets a well-placed shot off, but this one doesn't get through.

6:35:
Fleury with a glove save, face off coming.

7:10:
The Pens are whistled for icing, and their skaters are gassed after a long shift. Hopefully they can get a change soon.

8:05:
Conner, Kennedy and Letestu have had a couple of big shifts. That third line is bringing plenty of energy to what's already a fast-paced game.

8:38:
Michalek with another huge block!

9:37:
The puck bounces over Engelland's stick as he attempts to keep it in, but he recovers and covers the open Sabre crashing the net.

10:18:
Adams clears the puck after a long shift.

11:21:
Dupuis with a high, hard shot that's stopped by Enroth.

13:15:
Malkin's shot stopped, Kunitz can't handle the rebound. Letang skates in, but his shot goes just wide.

14:23:
The Sabres will be heading to the box - Ennis gets a pair for high sticking after he whacks Orpik.

15:45:
Yet ANOTHER big block by Fleury! I can't say enough about how well he is playing - he looks confident and steady.

16:00:
Myer's shot almost squeezes between Fleury's arm and the post, but the Pens netminder makes the save.

16:25:
Now Kunitz heads to the box as he gets whistled for slashing right off the face off.

16:39:
Leopold holds the puck in the Pens zone and dishes to Ennis, whose wrister misses the net.

18:02:
The Pens dogpile into the crease to help Fleury cover the puck. He makes the save and Pittsburgh clears.

18:43:
Talbot heads to the box. Crosby came out to take the draw, and gets stuck penalty-killing as the Pens can't clear.

19:22:
We're already on our third faceoff of the final frame as the puck goes out of play.

19:59: Game on!

20:00:
We've gotten word that Stamkos has reclaimed the NHL scoring lead with a goal and two assists in the first period. Tampa Bay leads the NY Islanders 3-0.

SECOND PERIOD NOTES:

- Malkin has fired a team-leading five shots on goal
- Crosby now has 21 points (9G-12A) over his 10-game scoring streak
- Martin has thrown his body in front of four shots, the most of any Pen tonight

0:00:
That's it for the second. Pittsburgh maintains their 1-0 lead over Buffalo on a first-period tally from Dupuis. Shots are 21-19 in favor of the Pens.

1:07:
Both teams are back to full strength.

1:45:
Malkin goes back and carries the puck out of the Pittsburgh zone.

2:58:
Stuart crashes into Fleury as he chases his rebound, and he'll get two minutes for goaltender interference. Pens on the power play with just under three minutes left!

3:51:
Kunitz's pass to Crosby is a little too hot to handle, and the captain can't corral the puck.

4:53:
Letang, who drifted down to receive a cross-ice pass from Crosby, gets off a slap shot that is barely kicked away by Enroth!

5:41:
Gaustad with a blast that deflects off the back boards and is smothered by Fleury, and a scrum ensues as the Penguins protect their goalie. We'll see if any penalties will be called.

6:59:
Leopold is back on the ice, both teams are back to full strength. The Penguins have been outshot 10-3 in this period.

8:03:
Letang dishes a pretty pass to Malkin on the right circle, but his one-timer is saved by Enroth.

8:43:
Malkin's backhander deflects up and out of play.

9:02:
Crosby draws a penalty when Leopold trips up the Penguins captain as he attempts to skate in on Enroth.

9:36:
Myers just inches out Kennedy to get the icing call for the Sabres. Bylsma will call a timeout in order to give his players a rest, since they cannot change lines.

10:40:
Comrie jumps on a turnover by Sabres defenseman Steve Montador, but his centering pass is deflected.

Former Penguins coach Eddie Johnston blows out his 75th birthday candles.

12:42:
Malkin, Cooke and Talbot just had a great three-on-one opportunity, but Malkin missed the net.

13:11:
Roy with a huge chance in front, but Fleury comes up big with the kick save through traffic! The Pens netminder has been sharp so far tonight.

15:33:
Kunitz gets a huge chance in front after he knocks a puck toward the net, but Enroth covers. This comes immediately after Fleury makes a big save on Stuart.

16:00:
Comrie feeds the puck into the slot for Crosby, who can't reach it in time.

16:37:
Malkin is back on the ice, just in time for three huge saves by Fleury! He blocks the initial stop with his right pad, then makes a huge second save on Tyler Ennis and covers the third shot to get a whistle.

18:52:
The Pens are on the penalty kill, as Malkin gets two for hooking. Roy is back on the ice for the Sabres.

20:00:
And we're back for the second frame!

SECOND PERIOD

A few of the Pens signing jerseys for the dads after taking an official photo:

0:00:
And that's it for the first! The Penguins lead 1-0 thanks to Crosby cashing on on a Sabres turnover and getting the puck to his linemate Dupuis for the goal. Pittsburgh also has the advantage in shots, 15-8.

0:56: The Pens created plenty of traffic in front of the 5-foot-10 Enroth, but couldn't get a puck through. 13 seconds remaining in the Pens power play.

1:30:
Letang jumps down low and begins cycling with his teammates.

2:05:
Martin and Letang will man the points to start, while Kunitz, Malkin and Crosby will put on the pressure up front.

2:43:
The Pens are getting the man-advantage, as Thomas Vanek hooks Malkin and will go to the box.

3:30:
Crosby has momentarily jumped ahead in the NHL scoring race, as he now has 36 points to Steven Stamkos' 35. We'll try to keep you updated on whether the Tampa Bay forward tallies tonight in the Lightning's game versus the NY Islanders.

With that assist, Crosby has extended his point streak to ten games! This is his fifth career streak where he's collected a point in ten or more games.

A scrum is ensuing in front of the Penguins bench, and we have some pushing and shoving going on. Paul Gaustad started mixing it up with Malkin, and Talbot took exception. No penalties are being called.

7:42:
Derek Roy just took a dump pass to the chin. Thankfully he appears OK.

9:52: Cooke appeared to outrace the Sabres to negate an icing. But the linesman didn't ive him the benefit. Cooke pleaded to no avail.

11:07: Grier takes a big blast through traffic. The puck never found its way to the net. Someone's gonna feel that in the morning.

12:22: Good sustained pressure by the Penguins. They've kept the puck in the offensive zone for over a minute and even managed a wholesale line change for fresh troops.

14:10: There was a great rush play led by Crosby. Some nifty passing set up Kunitz in the slot, but his shot just traveled wide of the net.

17:40: The Sabres are forcing Fleury to be sharp early. They've gotten off a couple of well-placed shots.

18:57:
