Suite 66 Offers Unique Game Experience
The Penguins and CONSOL Energy Center offer high-end corporate clients one of the most unique game experiences in professional sports – a chance to do business and entertain clients in the spectacular new “Suite 66” located just outside the Penguins locker room.

Suite 66, which is located along the runway from the Penguins' locker room to the bench, offers a unique experience for fans unlike any other in professional sports.

In addition to getting 26 seats at ice level, next to the Penguins’ bench, the occupants of Suite 66 on any given night have exceptional food and beverage options in a luxurious “suite” under the stands – and they get a special “peek behind the curtain’” because they can watch the Penguins’ players on their way to and from the locker room.

It was an idea created by Penguins CEO David Morehouse after seeing how NFL, NBA and MLB teams entertain high-end clients by allowing them to watch pre-game warm-ups on the field or court.

That can’t happen in hockey, of course, because of the ice surface, and flying pucks – but Morehouse thought that an underground suite with glass walls to enable fans to see the players on their walk to and from the locker room would be a very unique perk.

What’s more, the suite is themed to Mario Lemieux’s career. Miniature versions of 19 trophies Lemieux won as a player are on display, including six Art Ross Trophies as scoring champion, three Hart Trophies as league MVP, and two Conn Smythe Trophies as MVP of the playoffs.

Lemieux also donated three of the most significant sticks from his career – those that he used to scored his 500th goal, his 600th goal, and five-goals/five ways against the New Jersey Devils in 1988.

In other words, before Suite 66 was outfitted in September, you would have had to have been in the Lemieux home to see the Hall of Fame-type display.

It’s another edge for the Penguins as they continue their outreach to the Pittsburgh corporate community, and another one-of-a-kind amenity offered at CONSOL Energy Center.
