Penguins Recall Forward Luca Caputi
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Luca Caputi from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

Caputi, 21, made his National Hockey League debut last season playing in five games for Pittsburgh. The winger scored one goal (in his first career game, Feb. 3 at Montreal) in those five contests.

The 6-foot-2, 184-pound forward is currently the leading goal scorer for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with 13 tallies, and ranks third on the club in points (26) through 36 contests. He also has a team-high 121 shots on goal.

Caputi originally joined Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the 2008 AHL playoffs after completing his junior career. The Toronto, Ontario native saw action in 19 postseason games, recording four goals and eight points to help Wilkes-Barre/Scranton reach the Calder Cup Finals. In 102 career regular-season games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he’s compiled 71 points (31G-40A).

Caputi, who was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Mississauga and Niagara. Caputi ranked third in the OHL in goals (51) and fourth in points (111) in 66 games for Niagara in 2007-08, both setting franchise records.
