12:43 PM:

Mark Eaton was absent from the morning skate and will be a game-time decision. He will go out for warmups and then a decision will be made. Eaton had back spasms but Bylsma remains optimistic he'll play. In case he can't go, defenseman Chris Lee has been recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Maxime Talbot (left) is hoping to make his season debut tonight.

Sergei Gonchar has been progressing in his injury, according to Bylsma, and is close to getting back into the lineup.

11:39 AM:
The Penguins have taken the ice at Scotiabank for their morning skate with a missing component. Mark Eaton was not on the ice for Pittsburgh. Eaton left the team's practice yesterday and did not return. There was no update on his status. Eaton did make the trip and we will get more information from Dan Bylsma after the morning skate.

With Eaton's status unknown, the Penguins are currently missing all six of their starting defensemen: Sergei Gonchar, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik, Alex Goligoski and Jay McKee.
