0:00: Boston holds on for the 3-0 victory as the Penguins conclude their four-game winning streak. Pittsburgh returns to Mellon Arena on Thursday to face the New Jersey Devils at 7:30 p.m.
0:03: Boston ices the goal when Bergeron fires a two-bouncer almost the length of the ice into the empty net for the shorthanded goal. Bruins 3, Penguins 0.
0:20: The Penguins get their second power play as Thornton receives two minutes for cross-checking. Pittsburgh uses their timeout.
1:01: Fleury is on the bench and the Penguins have six attackers.
2:37: Crosby gets good body leverage and knocks Zdeno Chara to the ice in the Boston zone.
4:45: The Penguins put Crosby with Staal and Fedotenko in an effort to get back into the game.
5:21: At the other end of the ice Fleury again keeps the Penguins in the game by absolutely robbing David Krejci's shot from eight feet away with a diving glove save.
5:47: A dump by Goligoski takes a fortunate bounce of the boards and lands at the far post of the Bruins' net but does not cross the line.
6:33: The Penguins kill Guerin's penalty.
7:26: Wideman fell to the ice creating a two-on-one for the Penguins but Cooke shoots into the chest of Thomas.
7:39: Fleury makes a save on Bergeron's shot, the first of this Bruins' power play.
8:33: Guerin receives a cross-checking penalty.
8:50: Guerin just misses poking home the rebound of Kunitz's shot from the near boards.
10:20: Thomas fell to the ice in the corner behind the Bruins' net but the Penguins couldn't dig the puck out of the scrum to take advantage.

14:34: Congratulations to former Penguin Mark Recchi whose assist on Paille's goal was the 900th of his NHL career.
16:26: Derek Morris blocks a centering pass from Cooke to Crosby at one end and the Bruins transition quickly to the Penguins' zone as Mark Recchi sends Daniel Paille on a breakaway. He goes to the blocker side to beat Fleury. Bruins 2, Penguins 0.
17:19: Guerin stays with a puck despite tight checking from Wideman and fires an authoritative backhand toward the Boston netminder.
17:49: Staal continues to get chances, this time his rebound shot from just outside the crease is stopped by Thomas.
19:55: Ray Bourque, Hall of Fame father of the Penguins Chris Bourque, is being interviewed by the Versus crew. The elder Bourque is pleased with Chris' play through 40 minutes.
20:00: The Penguins will be attempting to improve their record to 3-4 when trailing after two periods.
THIRD PERIOD
SECOND PERIOD NOTES:
- Alex Goligoski leads all players through two periods with 18:12 of ice time.
- Mike Rupp leads the Penguins with three hits.
- Vladimir Sobotka's penalty 2:04 into the game has been the only infraction assessed to either team.
0:00: Boston takes a 1-0 lead into the final 20 minutes thanks to a Matt Hunwick goal. Boston still leads in shots, 17-15, but Pittsburgh gets the better of the shots in the second, 13-6.
0:06: Byron Bitz steps in front of a Rupp shot after the Penguins center steals a breakout pass through the middle of the ice.
1:18: The Penguins get significant attack time in the offensive zone as Staal wins a faceoff forward and stays with his original shot which was bloacked.
2:08: Dupuis and Mike Rupp combine to steal the puck behind the net and Dupuis attempts to stuff a shot behind Thomas but last season's Vezina Trophy winner was up to the task.
3:39: Cooke corrals a wraparound along the far boards and passes to Crosby open in the slot. Thomas uses his pad make the save.
3:54: Pittsburgh is outshooting the Bruins, 8-6, in the middle frame.
4:23: Dupuis shoots just wide taking a pass from Adams as that line continues to generate offense for the Penguins.
5:15: The speed of Conner and Adams leads to a chance for Adams to fire a slap shot through traffic, although Thomas was there again to make the save.
6:08: Thomas elects to catch and hold a wrist shot from the blue line by Guerin as the Penguins continue to buzz around the Bruins end and appear a shot away from tying this game.
7:45: Bourque feeds Skoula at the center point and his one-timer is off the pads of Thomas.
9:43: Thomas stays with a shot along the ice by Chris Conner as the Penguins start to take the momentum over.
11:17: Fleury continues to keep the Penguins in the games making a great save on a chance by Bergeron that appeared to be deflected on the way in.
12:55: Staal, Kunitz and Guerin cycle on the Bruins and create several scoring chances on the Penguins' best shift of the night.
13:38: Bourque makes a save on Ryder laying in the crease as the Bruins apply pressure in the Pittsburgh end.
15:04: Pascal Dupuis intercepts a D-to-D pass by the Bruins behind the net and creates a great scoring chance for himself walking out of the near side of the net.
15:51: Kunitz makes Dennis Wideman pay the price behind the Boston net with a thunderous check into the boards.
16:56: Cooke's pass to Crosby in the slot just jumps over the Penguins captain's stick in the high slot.
18:24: Play resumes following the crediting of a Boston goal to Hunwick as a bouncing puck lands into the chest of Fleury.
17:04: At the next stoppage the horn is sounded from upstairs and replays show Hunwick's backhander did in fact beat Fleury. The clock will revert back to 18:24. Bruins 1, Penguins 0.
18:24: Boston thinks they beat Fleury but the goal is waved off by Bill McCreary. Defenseman Matt Hunwick had the shot.
18:46: Fleury kicks a long-range shot from Ryder to the corner with his right pad.
19:22: Again, the Penguins will be without Brooks Orpik the rest of the game and are down to five defensemen for the second-straight game.
20:00: Action is back under way.

FIRST PERIOD NOTES:
- The Penguins will be without the services of Brooks Orpik the rest of the way.
- The Penguins outhit the Bruins 12-8.
- Pittsburgh blocked six shots in the opening period, led by Martin Skoula's two.
0:00: A scoreless contest after 20 minutes at TD Garden. Boston has a 10-2 shots advantage on the Penguins.
0:42: Skoula does a great job staying with Patrice Bergeron on a one-on-one.
3:14: Thus far the Bruins have a 9-2 advantage on shots.
5:07: Both teams are doing a great job of denying the other puck possession once they enter the zone as a lot of the game is being played between the blue lines.
7:48: Staal barely misses the net on a two-on-one setup from Chris Kunitz. At the other end Fleury denies Steve Begin from just in front of his crease as the two teams trade chances.
9:10: At the last television timeout Bylsma said in an interview with Versus he was pleased with the zone presence provided by the Craig Adams unit last shift.
9:47: Mark Eaton steal a Shawn Thornton pass at the blue line and fires a long shot on Tim Thomas. Bourque applies forechecking pressure which leads to a steal and another quality shot. Bourque has a lot of jump playing in the city where he grew up.
11:43: Head coach Dan Bylsma tries Chris Bourque on a line with Crosby and Fedotenko.
12:45: Staal makes a nice back-checking play in the neutral zone to pick the Bruins' pocket and lead a rush into the Boston end.
14:19: Marc-Andre Fleury stops Ryder not once but twice in the slot as Jay McKee dives to clear the rebound.
15:56: Boston kills off the penalty but the Penguins have good puck movement with the man-advantage.
17:45: Up front on the power play is Crosby, Bill Guerin and Jordan Staal. Ruslan Fedotenko is on the left point and Alex Goligoski on the right point.
