0:00: The Penguins defeat the Anaheim Ducks, 4-3, allowing them to improve to 12-3 overall and 7-0 on the road. Pittsburgh's seven road victories allows them to tie an NHL record for most consecutive road victories at the beginning of a season.

Orpik takes a hit from Perry behind the net touching up an icing call. Perry gets a boarding penalty.

0:08:
Anaheim fires shot after shot at the Penguins but thus far they have been able to keep their one-goal lead.

1:50:
Crosby fires the puck out of the zones after almost two minutes straight of intense Anaheim pressure.

3:07:
Crosby saves the game with Fleury out of the net by diving and making a pad save in the crease on Scott Niedermayer.

3:27:
Fleury is sharp to stop a redirection right in front of his crease.

4:59:
The line of Staal, Cooke and Kennedy nearly gives the Penguins a two-goal lead as their forechecking leads to Kennedy's shot from the near side of the crease.

5:40:
Koivu thought he was going to tie the score again but Fleury flashes the glove on the former Canadien's snap shot from eight feet away. Officials reviewed the play to make sure Fleury's glove was not over the line.

Kunitz has three hits in his return to Anaheim. Here he talks earlier this morning about the intangibles he brings to the equation:

The Penguins fall to 0-for-5 on the power play.

Orpik and Koivu exchange unpleasantries behind the play. Koivu gets the interference penalty.

A flurry of scoring continues as Dupuis finds the back of the net for the second-consecutive game. He takes an Orpik pass and unleashes a slap shot through traffic for the score. Letang picks up the second assist. Penguins 4, Ducks 3.

11:46:
Koivu checks Oprik to the ice, picks up the puck and stuffs it between the pad of Fleury and the post to tie the score. Penguins 3, Ducks 3.

12:05:
Kennedy dives to the ice to poke a pass past Selanne to Goligoski at the center point. Goligoski beats Hiller to the blocker side. Staal gets the second assist. Penguins 3, Ducks 2.

13:00:
Martin Skoula lifts the stick of Perry coming down the left side with speed.

14:47:
Rupp nearly scores for the second time as he walks out of the corner and takes the puck directly to Hiller's cage.

16:46:
Orpik throws a shot just wide looking for a deflection from Crosby standing in front.

19:00:
Teemu Selanne's pass is barely redirected by Koivu over top the net.

20:00:
Action begins as the Penguins look to avoid their first two-game losing streak in regulation under Dan Bylsma.

THIRD PERIOD

SECOND PERIOD NOTES:

- Matt Cooke was credited with the second assist on Kris Letang's goal.
- The Penguins lead the faceoff battle, 18-13. Jordan Staal is 6-2.
- Cooke and Tyler Kennedy are each plus-2 through two periods.

The Penguins rebound in the middle frame to tie the score, 2-2. Each team has 19 shots apiece through 40 minutes.

During end-to-end action Perry barely misses the net along the ice in an effort to get his hat trick.

Orpik bodies Koivu to the ice in the far corner of the Penguins' end.

3:59:
Perry's second goal of the game ties the score as he pokes home the rebound of a Ryan Getzlaf shot. Ryan gets the second assist. Penguins 2, Ducks 2.

5:26:
Fleury makes one of his few second-period saves on Todd Marchant in the slot.

6:43:
Kunitz returns to the ice and the Ducks are 0-for-2 on the power play.

7:13:
Eaton blocks a shot and then a pass as the Penguins are preventing Anaheim from doing much with this power play.

8:43:
Anaheim gets their second crack with the man-advantage as Kunitz goes off for hooking.

9:58:
Letang exacts revenge on the Ducks after getting high-sticked in the face earlier by firing a wrist shot through traffic over the glove of Hiller on a delayed-penalty call. Assists to Orpik. Penguins 2, Ducks 1. (Matt Cooke later credited with the second assist)

Kennedy transitions a loose puck created by the blocked shot by Cooke and streaks down the right side, firing a low, hard shot into the pads of Hiller.

Anaheim turns the puck over to the wrong guy - Crosby. He makes a great move to get open before Hiller makes a fine glove save on the Penguins captain.

Evgeny Artyukhin high-sticks Letang in the face behind the Anaheim net but somehow no penalty is called on the play.

15:10:
Staal prevents a Ducks' score by using his long reach to stop a shot by Ryan, who was staring at an open net.

15:21:
Cooke is out as the Penguins kill the first penalty against them.

17:21:
After the goal penalties are assessed to both teams. Sheldon Brookbank and McKee go off for roughing, and Cooke picks up the extra two for roughing as well.

17:21:
Seconds following the miss by Goligoski, Jay McKee keeps the puck in at the left point to Kennedy in the corner; he throws a pass to Mike Rupp in the slot and he one-times a shot past Hiller for his fourth goal. Penguins 1, Ducks 1.

17:26:
Goligoski has an open net following the rebound of a Kennedy chance but he missed the net wide to the right.

19:40:
Crosby spins out of the corner and throws a shot towards the net gloved up high by Hiller.

20:00:
The puck is dropped as both teams are at full strength.

SECOND PERIOD

FIRST PERIOD NOTES:

- The Penguins managed only five shots during their four power-play attempts.
- Sidney Crosby (9:22), Kris Letang (9:17) and Alex Goligoski (9:13) each played almost half a period in the opening frame.
- The Penguins blocked six shots in the first period, led by two from Brooks Orpik.

Anaheim takes a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Pittsburgh outshoots the Ducks, 9-7.

Adams lays a text-book shoulder into Mikkelson along the far boards of the Ducks' end.

The Penguins fall to 0-for-4 on the power play.

2:57:
Saku Koivu cross-checks Mark Eaton into the boards from behind giving the Penguins a fourth power play of the period.

3:37:
Ryan sprints out of the box and the Penguins are now 0-for-3 with the man-advantage.

4:34:
Guerin redirects an Alex Goligoski wrist shot from the point into the pads of Hiller.

5:37:
Ryan is penalized on the play for goaltender interference.

5:49:
Bobby Ryan runs Marc-Andre Fleury over crashing the net on a Ryan Getzlaf shot.

The Penguins are now 0-for-2 on the power play.

Sidney Crosby emerges from a host of bodies in the corner and feeds Kris Letang wide open on the back door. Hiller stops the one-timer.

During the first televsion stoppage Chris Kunitz is honored on the Jumbotron for his service with the Ducks, concluding with a picture of him holding the puck. Pittsburgh is on the power play after an interference call against Ryan Carter.

11:41:
Bobby Ryan dances down the ice and when he gets to the far boards in the Pittsburgh end he is greeted to a fine body check into the glass from Cooke.

12:45:
Jordan Staal, Pascal Dupuis and Fedotenko register the Penguins first sustained pressure of the evening in the Anaheim end.

13:53:
A wrist shot by Goligoski is mishandled by Hiller as Rupp, Bourque and Godard take quality cracks at the rebound.

Fedotenko fires the Penguins' first quality shot off the blocker of Jonas Hiller.

Corey Perry's turnaround shot in the slot from one knee gets under Fleury for the score. Ducks 1, Penguins 0.

Kennedy hits the ice for the first time in three games on a line with Craig Adams and Matt Cooke.

10:03 PM:
Tyler Kennedy returns to the lineup after missing the previous three games. Chris Conner and Evgeni Malkin are the Penguins' scratches. Anaheim will be without former Penguin Erik Christensen, waived earlier today, and defensemen James Wisniewski, suspended for two-games yesterday.

10:01 PM:

The Penguins travel to Anaheim to take on the Ducks for the only time in 2009-10. A victory would give the Penguins seven consecutive road victories at the beginning of the season, tying an NHL record.
