Penguins Report: Disney Ice Practice

Monday, 11.02.2009 / 2:22 PM / Penguins Report
By Sam Kasan

The Penguins held their Monday practice at Disney Ice, but this practice had a twist.

Since the Penguins didn't want to load all their gear at Disney Ice just to repack everything and transport it to the Honda Center, the team set up all its gear at the Honda Center. The Penguins dressed in all their equipment at Honda Center (except their skates, which they carried) and then got on a bus for Disney Ice. After practice they will load their gear into their equipment bags and have them transported back to Honda for unloading.

12:50 PM (PACIFIC TIME):
Marc-Andre Fleury is off to a tremendous start with a 9-2 record, 2.07 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. Perhaps buoyed by his fast start, Fleury's name tops a recent TSN.com poll question asking fans "Who is the front runner for the No. 1 goaltender spot for Canada at the Olympics."

Here are the results:

Marc-Andre Fleury - 41.1%
Martin Brodeur - 26.9%
Roberto Luongo - 23.0%
Steve Mason - 3.3%
Cam Ward - 2.6%
Marty Turco - 1.0%
Other - 1.8%

While his teammates put on their equipment for practice, Evgeni Malkin stepped onto the Honda Center ice to shoot some pucks off the boards. Sorry for the poor picture quality. It is quite dark in the arena.
