Sidney Crosby, Penguins Announce Little Penguins \'Learn to Play Hockey\' Program
Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, with generous support from Reebok and Dick’s Sporting Goods, today announced the Little Penguins “Learn to Play Hockey” program, designed to introduce the game to 4-8 year olds in the Pittsburgh area.

This one-of-a-kind program offers free head-to-toe hockey equipment to children who enroll in participating learn to play programs at local rinks.

“Hockey is such a great sport, and the goal of this program is to create opportunities for even more kids in the Pittsburgh area to take up the game,” Crosby said. “With the ‘Little Penguins’ program, they can be fully equipped and learn the game in an organized and fun way.”

“Sid, his family and the Penguins organization wanted to come up with a way to increase youth hockey participation in the Pittsburgh area while lessening the investment that parents and guardians have to make to properly equip their children,” said Penguins president David Morehouse. “Having Reebok and Dick’s Sporting Goods join us in this effort is going to make for an exceptional ‘Little Penguins’ program.”

Thanks to Crosby, the Penguins, Reebok and Dick’s Sporting Goods, each child who registers will receive Reebok SC87 Crosby-endorsed equipment, including skates, stick, helmet, gloves, pants, pads and an equipment bag, as well as a “Little Penguins” jersey.
