Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins will hold summer youth hockey camps in June and August, offering kids ages 5-17 a chance to improve their hockey skills and engage in fun competition.

Penguins assistant coach Mike Yeo and two-time Stanley Cup champion Phil Bourque will be the lead instructors at both camps, and Penguins power skating coach Besa Tsintsadze will oversee skating drills.

The Penguins Scrimmage Camp will be held from June 25-29 at the Ice Castle in Castle Shannon. The unique feature of the Scrimmage Camp is that participants will be placed on teams for the entire week, and there will be daily team scrimmages to help improve both individual and teamwork skills. The scrimmages will culminate in playoffs and trophies. To register for the Scrimmage Camp, click here.

The Penguins Summer Hockey School will be held August 20-24 at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. Participants will receive 15 hours of ice time over the five days, as well as off-ice instruction during daily classroom sessions.

Both camps are open to youngsters in five age groups: Mite (5-8), Squirt (9-10), Pee Wee (11-12), Bantam (13-14) and Midget (15-17).

For more information, please log on to the youth hockey section of, or call Mark Shuttleworth, the Penguins’ director of amateur hockey, at 412-642-1329.
