Pittsburgh Penguins

Sergei Gonchar picked up an assist in Russia’s 8-1 triumph over Ukraine on Sunday at the World Championship tournament.

Penguins roooki Evgeni Malkin played, but did not pick up a point.

Jarkko Ruutu and Finland stormed past Denmark, 6-2. Ruutu did not register a point, but he did have two penalty minutes.

Canada posted a 4-2 win over Norway. Colby Armstrong and Jordan Staal did not earn a point in the victory, but Armstrong did have two penalty minutes.

Russia plays Finland on Tuesday, while Canada plays Slovakia on Wednesday.
