ALUMNI BATTLE PITTSBURGH FIRE FIGHTERS TO RAISE MONEY FOR MEMORIAL FUND

The Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni Charity Hockey Team topped the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Memorial Ice Hockey Team 12-6 on Friday, March 9th at the Ice Castle in Castle Shannon. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Memorial Fund.

Approximately 300 fans were in attendance to cheer on the teams which featured alumni members Kim Clackson, Mark Kachowski, and Warren Young along with radio personalities Mike Prisutta of ESPN 1250 and Larry Richert of KDKA.

Ticket sales for the event along with the proceeds from the auction of autographed Penguins items raised over $1,800 for the Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Memorial Fund.

The fund provides assistance to families of late Pittsburgh Fire Fighters to defray burial costs and helps to maintain a memorial site for Pittsburgh Fire Fighters killed in the line of duty.

In other alumni charity game action…On March 24th The Pittsburgh Penguins Alumni Charity Hockey Team played the coaches of the Amateur Penguins at Bladerunners in Harmarville. Proceeds from this charity game will fund the Amateur Penguins Hockey Program.
