WEST ALLEGHENY, QUAKER VALLEY EARN PIHL PLAYOFF WINS

Ryan Kumpfmiller’s overtime goal Monday night gave West Allegheny a 2-1 win over Latrobe in PIHL Penguins Cup playoff action.

Kumpfmiller’s goal gave the Indians (13-8-2) a 1-0 lead after the first period. Billy Davis and Eric DiFiore assisted on the goal.

Brad Roth tied the game at 1-all for Latrobe (18-5-0) with a goal in the third period. Jeff Rossi and JefJoe Rogula had assists.

Kumpfmiller scored the game-winner in OT off a Pat Ostrander assist.

Kyle Mortimer stopped 37 shots to earn the win in goal.

Quaker Valley 8, Conemaugh Valley 0

George Jackson scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Quakers to the Class A win.

Brenton MacNamara had two goals and an assist for Quaker Valley (20-0-1), while Clay Scott and Greg Dyer both had a goal and two assists. Lee Drake had three assists and Cody Scott added two assists. Trey Steaner and Ross Watko both scored goals, while Noah Zamagias had an assist.

Zac Zinger stopped all eight shots he faced to earn the victory.
