The Pittsburgh Penguins return to action Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. as they welcome the Buffalo Sabres to Mellon Arena.

Versus will televise the contest at 7:30 p.m., while 105.9 The X will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 7 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on as well. Tune in for Penguins Hotline following every game on 105.9 The X and the Penguins Radio Network. It marks the seventh game in 13 days this month for the Penguins (37-21-10), who trail New Jersey (42-19-8) by eight points in the Atlantic Division standings. Buffalo (44-19-5) owns the top record in the Eastern Conference.

Sidney Crosby owns a seven-point lead in the NHL scoring race with 100 points (28+72) in 65 games. Tampa Bay’s Vincent Lecavalier is second with 93 points (46+47) in 70 games.

Evgeni Malkin leads all rookies in scoring with 73 points (31+42) in 64 games. Colorado’s Paul Stastny is second with 66 points (22+44) in 69 games. Penguins winger Jordan Staal is sixth in rookie scoring with 37 points (27+10). He leads all NHL players with a 25.7 shooting percentage and seven short-handed goals, an NHL record for rookies.

Sergei Gonchar is second in scoring among NHL defensemen with 57 points (12+45). He is two points behind Detroit’s Nicklas Lidstrom, who leads the list with 59 points (12+47).
