FIVE TEAMS POST WINS IN PIHL PENGUINS CUP PLAYOFF ACTION

Upper St. Clair, Montour, Moon, Hampton and West Allegheny all posted wins Thursday night in PIHL Penguins Cup playoff action.

Upper St. Clair 4, Plum 1

Rich Kline scored a pair of goals to lead Upper St. Clair to the Class AAA win.

James DiGani and Trevor Yealy both had a goal and an assist for the Panthers. Jono Lohman had two assists, while Jeremy Bourgeois and Donald Degnataro both had assists.

Max Daurora stopped 28 shots to earn the win in goal.

Chad Covol scored Plum’s lone goal. Vinnie Somma and Ben Colosimo both had assists.

Montour 3, Indiana 2

Michael Zagari’s goal in the second overtime gave the Spartans the Class AA victory.

Josh York and Kevin Bishop added goals for Montour. Justin Siegel, Paul Ciotti, Josh Siegel and Keith Kurelis all had assists in the win.

Matthew Skoff made 49 saves to earn the victory in goal.

Jay Pattina had a goal and an assist for Indiana. Ben Brunetta had a goal, while Lance Lewandiwski and Joe Appolonia both had assists.

Moon 5, Greensburg Central Catholic 4

Sedric Brazeau had a goal and two assists to lead the Tigers to the Class AA overtime win.

Matt Reese, Peter Lyle, Anthony Pompao and Zack Smith all had goals for Moon, while Andy Ruxton and Mischa Kleynjans added assists.

Matthew Wynn earned the win in goal for the Tigers.

Todd Kacin and Dave Matlock had a goal and an assist for Greensburg Central Catholic. Mike Perschetti and Chris Kovalchuk had goals for the Centurions, while Jess Tetkoski had two assists and Bret Bucholtz added an assist.

Hampton 2, Greensburg-Salem 1

Robert Bosilovic scored the game-winner with 8:02 to play for the Talbots.

Jordan Delatorre had a goal for Hampton, while Bryan Relihan, Richard Coyle and Justin Bahorich all had assists.

Shane Talerico had 26 saves to earn the win in goal.

Shane Davis scored the lone goal for Greensburg-Salem. Eric Yurinko and Hank Fontana both had assists.

West Allegheny 7, Elizabeth-Forward 2

Ryan Kumpfmiller had two goals and two assists to lead West Allegheny to the Class AA win.

Justin DiSanti had a hat-trick for the Indians, while Anthony Sweet and Pat Ostrander had goals. Jeff Cupelli recorded two assists and Greg Pencosky, Lee Hartman and Christopher Altman all had assists.

Kyle Mortimer stopped 38 shots in goal to earn the win.

Justin Lizik had two goals for Elizabeth-Forward. Jeremy Pell had two assists, while Stephen Shore had an assist.
