The contest marks the second-straight afternoon game for the Penguins (26-17-8), who have won a season-high six games. The last time the team won six games in a row happened in January, 2002. In addition, Pittsburgh has picked up a point in its last nine games.
The Canadiens and Penguins met on Thursday at Mellon Arena in an intense 5-4 Pittsburgh overtime shootout win.
“Especially for the French guys, it’s always a little special [going to Montreal],” Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said. “The last game was intense and there was a lot of goal scoring, so I think it’ll be a good hockey game.”
Fleury picked up his second shutout in his last three games. He is slated to get the start in goal Sunday, too.
