PENGUINS BATTLE MAPLE LEAFS AT MELLON ARENA ON SATURDAY AT 7 P.M.

The Pittsburgh Penguins welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to Mellon Arena at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The contest wraps up the Penguins’ pre-All-Star Game schedule. Pittsburgh (20-17-8) has won two of its last three games and hopes to continue that momentum heading into the five-day all-star week break.

Sidney Crosby maintains his grasp of the NHL scoring lead, which he has held since Dec. 13. The 19-year-old star has 69 points (23+46) through 42 games. Alexander Ovechkin and Martin St. Louis are tied for second with 64 points. Both have 29 goals and 35 assists. Ovechkin has played in 47 games, while St. Louis has appeared in 49.

Penguins center Evgeni Malkin increased his scoring lead among NHL rookies. The 20-year-old has 47 points (24+23) in 41 games. Los Angeles center Anze Kopitar is second with 41 points (12+29) in 49 games

FSN Pittsburgh will televise Saturday’s contest at 7 p.m., while 105.9 The X will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on pittsburghpenguins.com as well.
