Once again, Canada will play for gold at the IIHF World Junior Championships tournament.

The Canadians pulled out a thrilling 2-1 overtime shootout over the United States on Wednesday to advance to Friday’s gold medal contest against Russia.The shootout went seven rounds before Team Canada claimed victory.

Kris Letang, Canada’s captain and a Penguins 2005 third-round pick, failed to record a point for the first time in the tournament. He has five assists in five games for Canada (5-0).

Canada is looking to win its third-straight gold medal.
