LETANG TALLIES ANOTHER ASSIST AS CANADA REMAINS UNBEATEN

Four points in three games for Kris Letang.

The Penguins prospect picked up another assist – his fourth – in Canada’s 3-1 win over Germany on Friday at the World Junior Championship tournament in Sweden. He leads all defensemen in tournament scoring with four points.

Letang, Canada’s captain, assisted on Steve Downie’s go-ahead power-play goal as Team Canada broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period.

Letang, the Penguins’ 2005 third-round pick, now has four assists in three games for Canada (3-0), which returns to action Sunday against Slovakia.

Finland 6, Czech Republic 2

Penguins prospect Timo Seppanen recorded an assist in Finland’s triumph on Thursday.

Seppanen, Pittsburgh’s 2006 seventh-round choice, set up Finland’s final goal – a short-handed tally from Jonas Enlund. Seppanen now has one assist, two penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating for the Finns (1-1).

Penguins prospect Tommi Leinonen, a 2005 fourth-round pick, is scoreless in both games, but has four penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. Both Leinonen and Seppanen are dfefensemen.
