The Penguins (9-7-2) have won two of their last three games. They are in the midst of an ultra-busy stretch of the schedule with six games in nine days. The game Monday in Philadelphia is the third contest of that streak. And, it marks the first of four games in a week-long span for Pittsburgh.

“The schedule is demanding for us in November and we knew it,” Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. “We’re disappointed we lost the game [Friday], but I like the way we played. Lately, in the last week, we’ve started to play some pretty solid hockey. It’s good for the confidence of our team. The players know when we play our system well we’re going to have a good chance to win.”

“We have six games in nine days and I think it’s really important that we get lots of rest and everyone stays sharp,” Penguins winger Mark Recchi said. “It’s basically three games in four days every other set. We just have to continue the process. As long as we get our rest, do things properly and eat right, we can actually benefit because it is nice to keep playing.

“There are a lot of division games, basically conference games. It’s a huge, important stretch for us. We got off to a good start and now we have to go to Philly.”
