PENGUINS PROSPECT GOLIGOSKI EARNS PRESEASON NCAA HONORS
University of Minnesota junior defenseman Alex Goligoski, a Penguins 2004 second-round draft pick, was named to the 2006-07 College Hockey News Preseason All-America Second Team.

Goligoski is coming off a highly successful sophomore campaign for the Golden Gophers. He ranked fifth in the country in points per game for all NCAA defensemen (0.95). He was an all-WCHA Second Team selection, an all-USCHO.com Honorable Mention and an Inside College Hockey Third Team All-American.
College Hockey News on Alex Goligoski:
"Dave Starman (lead color analyst for College Sports Television's Game of the Week package) says: High-risk, high-reward. Unbelievably skilled offensively.
We say: To win, he'll need to pay more attention defensively, but there's no question what he can do offensively."
