NATIONAL AVIARY MAKES STOP AT MELLON ARENA

There were penguins on the ice at Mellon Arena on Tuesday.

But, they weren’t playing hockey.

The National Aviary stopped by the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins with four special visitors – African penguins named Simon, Elvis, Stanley and Patrick. Simon is named for his home region of Simonstown, Africa, while the other three have hockey-themed names – Elvis (for Mike Lange’s famous ‘Elvis has just left the building!’ call), Stanley (for the Stanley Cup) and Patrick (for the Patrick Division).

Participants in the Penguins rookie camp could not help skating over to visit with their feathered counterparts before practice.
