PENGUINS SIGN DOMINIC MOORE TO TWO-YEAR DEAL

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed center Dominic Moore to a two-year contract, it was announced Tuesday by General Manager Ray Shero. Moore’s arbitration hearing had been scheduled for Aug. 2.

Moore, 25, appeared in all 82 games during the 2005-06 regular season with the New York Rangers, recording 18 points (9+9), 28 penalty minutes and a plus-4 rating. He ranked second on the Rangers in short-handed time on ice (293:28) and third in short-handed time on ice/game (3:34).

The 6-0 and 195-pound native of Thornhill, Ontario was acquired by the Penguins from Nashville with Libor Pivko in exchange for a 2007 third round draft choice. 

Moore was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (95th overall) of the 2000 Entry Draft.  He has appeared in 87 career games, tallying 21 points (9+12) and 28 penalty minutes.  He has also appeared in 148 games in two seasons with the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League, racking up 89 points (33+56) and 138 penalty minutes.
